In fall 2022, MAX will open a new fast-food restaurant in Hufvudstaden’s premises on Kungsgatan 4 in Stockholm. This will be  one out of three new MAX restaurant's opening up in the Stockholm city centre during 2022.

MAX was founded in 1968 in Gällivare and has been a wholly-owned family business ever since. Today, MAX has a total of 173 restaurants, 141 in Sweden, with some of the remainder in Norway, Denmark and Poland. The company conducts extensive sustainability work and was, among other initiatives, early to launch environmentally-friendly burgers on its menus.

- “We’re enormously proud to take over the Kungsgatan 4 premises. We have a forward-looking expansion strategy involving rapid growth and have long wanted to open in the most central parts of Stockholm. There is considerable demand from people who work, shop and visit the Stureplan area to eat Sweden’s tastiest burgers,” says Richard Bergfors, CEO MAX Burgers.

MAX takes over the approximately 550 sqm premises at Kungsgatan 4 on 1 December 2021. A period of renovation and interior design work will follow, with the restaurant scheduled to open in the fall of 2022.

- “We’re excited to be able to welcome MAX to our property on Kungsgatan. The MAX restaurant concept complements our existing offering extremely well and will strengthen Kungsgatan as a business street and vibrant meeting place at the heart of the city,” says Emanuel Westin, Head of Business Development, Retail at Hufvudstaden.
