THE MALL BLACKBURN’S SECURITY MANAGER IS UK’S BEST
The Mall Blackburn’s Security Manager has been named the best in the country.
Ronnie O’Keefe was given the accolade at the annual national VSG Security and The Mall Reward and Recognition Programme awards ceremony, which is a joint venture between VSG Security and The Mall aimed at acknowledging the hard work and dedication of the staff.
VSG Security is contracted to provide highly trained personnel to the nine Malls across the UK and Ronnie fought off stiff from his counterparts from the rest of the Mall’s portfolio.
He heads up The Mall’s 22 man security team and was praised for his exceptional management skills and the role he has played in spearheading a number of successful initiatives in the past 12 months.
One of the most recent schemes that Ronnie has worked on saw five members of The Mall Blackburn’s security team being granted a range of police powers under Lancashire Constabulary’s Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS).
They were the first security officers in Lancashire to be accredited under the scheme, which enables them to work closely with the police to continue to successfully reduce crime.
CSAS is a Home Office initiative that enables the Chief of Police for each force to designate targeted police powers to employees of non-police organisations who contribute to community safety.
The Mall Blackburn’s General Manager Loraine Jones, who also attended the ceremony in Northampton, said: “We have a fantastic and very long standing relationship with VSG Security and we look forward to attending the awards ceremony each year.
“It came as no surprise to me that Ronnie won the Security Manager of the Year Award as he is absolutely brilliant at his job and very passionate about what he does.
“Ronnie and his team work tirelessly to ensure the best possible environment for our shoppers and the awards are a chance to recognise the success of very valued members of our team here in The Mall Blackburn.”
