Borgstena Gruppen has selected IFS Applications to manage its Automotive Cut & Sew Division
IFS, the global enterprise applications company, today announces that Borgstena Gruppen, a global supplier of automotive interior solutions, has selected IFS Applications to support the operations at their new Cut & Sew factory in Romania (Trimsol Romania). The main aim of the company is to control the manufacturing process and improve the supply chain process. The contract has a total value of EUR 220,000, and includes software licenses and consulting services.
Currently, Borgstena Gruppen is a holding corporation formed by joint ventures created due to a new market strategy. The Textile Division of Borgstena Gruppen has been a customer of IFS since 2001 and currently has 150 users working with IFS Applications, distributed in the following factories: Borgstena Group Sweden, Borgstena Group Portugal, Borgstena Textile Portugal, and now the Trimsol factory in Romania.
The Trimsol factory will be in charge of the supply of complete seat covers to Hyundai Czech Republic together with a Korean industrial group. This factory will be the model that the Borgstena Gruppen will use to build the solution that will manage all the new Trimsol factories in Czeck Republic, Turkey and Brazil, as well as the ones that will be incorporated based on the company´s medium-term expansion strategy.
“Since 2001, Borgstena Gruppen trusts the control of their processes and operations on IFS Application, due to the openness, reliability and reduced TCO of this ERP system,” Pedro Figueiredo, CIO at Borgstena Group said.
Trimsol will have the following solutions: IFS Manufacturing, IFS Distribution, and IFS Financials, the same functional components that Borgstena Textile (Portugal) already has implemented.
Thus, IFS Applications will provide Trimsol with a general survey of all the activities, allowing:
- Access to shared information and consolidated data throughout company
- Global streamlining of processes to meet the demands of the market
- Access to local support in Romania
The automotive industry is one of IFS´s targeted market segments. The solutions designed by IFS for this industry provides appropriate tools to manage the interaction between automotive manufacturers and their suppliers. IFS Applications is an agile, scalable and open solution that offers a wide functionality to manage all the critical processes of the automotive industry.
