IFS can today announce that utilities group Mälarenergi has signed for implementation of the purchasing tool IFS eBuyer version 2.0. The tool is designed to ensure increased control over purchasing processes and to save time for the purchasers.

IFS eBuyer is a tool which gives the company control over supplier agreements, overview of purchasing patterns and mapping of the company’s purchasing needs. The tool is partly web-based which means that the main processes can be carried out using the IFS Enterprise Explorer interface. By using the new purchasing portal, the eBuyer user can handle central product and purchasing processes, thereby reducing administration time for the purchasers.

In addition to generally simplified purchasing processes, Mälarenergi has now secured increased possibilities to guide the purchaser toward the correct supplier and follow up on purchasing costs related to various services and products. With a unified and categorized purchasing process across the entire company, Mälarenergi has also secured a solid basis for future negotiations with suppliers.

“We believe IFS eBuyer 2.0 will simplify and streamline our purchasing processes. Since Mälarenergi is already using IFS Applications within a number of business-critical areas, we see a number of benefits to expand the functionality to include purchasing and supplier agreements,” said Emil Andrén, Acting Manager Support at Mälarenergi.

“IFS is continuously working with product development, including improved handling of structured purchasing processes. We are convinced that Mälarenergi will benefit greatly from the system’s support for simplified ordering and improved overview of agreements, product items and web catalogs, Glenn Arnesen, CEO, IFS Scandinavia said.

By using the portal to initiate purchases, the user can avoid making purchases that fall outside of the scope of existing supplier agreements. More strategic purchases can also allow companies to increase quality and delivery precision while making it possible to reduce cost in the form of lower stock levels. A streamlined purchasing process will also save time for the purchaser.
