Wilhemsen Ships Service streamlines operations with IFS Applications 8
IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS), the world's leading maritime services provider and fully-owned subsidiary of Wilhelmsen Maritime Services, has chosen to upgrade to IFS Applications 8™ across its global organization. The contract includes licenses and services worth approximately NKr 59 million.
By implementing IFS Applications 8, WSS is expanding its use of IFS technology in several business streams and processes. The implementation will help WSS to standardize and optimize work processes such as supply chain, finance, sales, and service. The IFS solution will be rolled out to some 2,000 users working throughout WSS’ global network
IFS Applications 8 will replace several legacy systems, thereby creating a more efficient business solution architecture.
“Since the first implementation in 1999, we have established a good working relation with IFS,” Mette Ungersness Bakke, chairman of Wilhelmsen IT Services said. “By leveraging IFS Applications 8 as our central platform, we will be able to further streamline our operations and move towards a standard business system.”
“We are proud of WSS’ continued confidence in our solutions and services,” IFS Scandinavia CEO Glenn Arnesen said. “IFS Applications 8 is based on our accumulated industry best practices, available as out-of-the-box, standard functionality. By standardizing its global processes, we are convinced that WSS will benefit from increased operational efficiency and control.”
The implementation project will start in August.
