ISG enters final phase at University of Edinburgh

After successfully completing the first two phases of a major refurbishment project for the University of Edinburgh, ISG is now preparing to commence the third and final stage of the £3.1 million redevelopment of the Ashworth complex for the School of Biological Sciences. Forming part of the University of Edinburgh’s King’s Buildings Campus, the five-storey Ashworth 2 building was partially upgraded in 2009 and 2013, with ISG now completing the modernisation of the remaining three floors. ISG Wins First Scheme on Renewed North West Framework

ISG has secured the first contract to be awarded under the renewed North West Construction Hub (NWCH) Medium Value Framework - a £2 million education scheme for Manchester City Council in East Manchester. The company was reappointed to the NWCH Medium Value Framework after delivering public sector projects across the North West valued in excess of £124 million on the previous capital works framework. The scheme involves the refurbishment of a former local authority care home in Longsight, Manchester to create replacement special educational needs (SEN) facilities for Rodney House School.

Minister of State for Energy & Climate Change Visits Warrington’s New University Technical College

The University Technical College Warrington (UTCW) received a visit today from Andrea Leadsom MP, Minister of State for Energy and Climate Change. The purpose of the Minister’s visit was to view Warrington’s new cutting edge educational institution and find out how, when it opens its doors in September 2016, the college will specialise in Energy and Engineering to support the training of future engineers that will help fill the UK’s skills requirements. ISG’s Temple Learning Academy Underway

Representatives from Temple Learning Academy and main contractor ISG gathered on site in East Leeds to mark the commencement of a project that will transform a disused leisure centre into an innovative free school. The ceremonial event is a key milestone for staff and pupils at the Temple Learning Academy, which currently occupies temporary accommodation at the site, converted by ISG from existing offices at the leisure facility last year. The Academy opened at the start of the academic year in autumn 2015 in this temporary accommodation as a through-school for 1,020 students aged 4-16

ISG Awarded Luton Free School Project

ISG has been awarded the project to construct a new free school in Luton as part of the influential EFA Regional Framework. The Moorlands Free School will be constructed for The Shared Learning Trust and as a ‘small class size model school’ will provide capacity for 504 pupils in class sizes up to a maximum of 24 children. ISG was appointed to the design and build project at concept stage and will provide a complete turnkey service, which has seen the company take the scheme from concept, design and planning, to construction and full fit out. ISG has been awarded a £10 million project to transform a disused leisure centre into a new free school in East Leeds as part of the EFA Framework. The former East Leeds Leisure Centre site will become the new permanent home for the Temple Learning Academy. The Academy opened at the start of the academic year in autumn 2015 in temporary accommodation as a through-school for 1,020 students aged 4-16 years.
