New subsidiary to boost project work and sales activities

Berlin, 16 July 2015 – IVU Traffic Technologies AG celebrated the official opening of its subsidiary in Israel along with representatives from the fields of politics and business. The German public-transport IT specialist set up its office there last year to provide direct local support for customers.

Numerous guests accepted IVU’s invitation. They included Nadav Meroz, CEO of the Jerusalem Transport Master Plan Team (JTMT), and Eyal Wax, CEO of Superbus Ltd., who expressed their congratulations to IVU. Dr Clemens von Goetze, German Ambassador to Israel, said on the occasion, “IVU’s commitment is an important example of the fruitful cooperation in business and the diversity of the German-Israeli bilateral relationship, whose fiftieth anniversary we are celebrating this year”. As well as political dignitaries, IVU employees also welcomed colleagues and partners from Israeli transport companies at the reception.

The Israeli employees at the new office in Tel Aviv are responsible for supporting IVU customers in Israel, and are on hand as their local point of contact. At the same time, they are helping the engineers from Germany in project implementation with their language skills and local expertise. Sales will form another core part of their work. The aim is to further boost IVU’s business in the region.

“The Israeli market is very important to us. With our new subsidiary, we are laying the foundation for close cooperation with our customers in Israel”, said Dr Andreas Groß-Weege, the responsible member of the IVU Management Board. “In addition to follow-up orders from existing projects, we expect additional orders from further transport companies in the medium term”.

IVU has been operating in Israel for around five years. Its customers include the Jerusalem Transport Master Plan Team (JTMT) and Superbus Ltd., one of the country’s largest private transport companies. IVU.suite, an integrated system of software and hardware for all aspects of transport operation, is fully adapted to Israeli requirements. It supports “Calypso”, the nationwide e-ticketing standard, and the official national languages – Hebrew, Arabic and English.
