Hand hygiene at schools and day-care centres

Minors’ hand hygiene is a major issue

Bacteria and viruses from hundreds or perhaps thousands of homes meet at schools and day-care centres. In these places that are prone to infection, special attention must be paid to hygiene and especially good hand hygiene. It is important that children wash their hands properly and regularly, and they need an adult to guide and assist them.

The most important thing is children’s health, but investment in hygiene can also reduce infections suffered by children’s family members. Thanks to it, parents are not forced to stay home from work due to their child’s or their own illness. It is also important to stay home when sick. Studies show that up to 80% of infections spread through the hands. Hands must be washed and disinfected immediately after coughing or blowing one’s nose to prevent hands from spreading the illness to surfaces and from there to other people.
