Head of Procurement 

 

The position   

Kiilto’s professional hygiene and consumer goods business areas develop, produce and sell hygiene solutions in the Baltic Sea region. Our purpose is to provide our customers with innovative and sustainable solutions for cleanliness with a range of well-known brands. We are a matrix organisation with factories in four countries. 

As Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for developing a strategic approach to the company’s group procurement and purchasing processes. In this leadership role, you will ensure the continuity, cost-effectiveness and environmental sustainability of materials as well as the consistency and adequacy of our procurement processes. You will support procurement team members in the countries we operate in with processes, develop procurement policies and procedures, and create a centralised procurement programme that will add value and increase the efficiency of the organisation. Your teams in the countries we operate in will have tactical responsibility for the development and implementation of policies, procedures and systems that drive the company’s success. 

In this newly established position, you will work closely with Kiilto’s R&D department, supply chain, quality assurance department and commercial team. If you enjoy getting things done and have a hands-on attitude, this could be the next step for you. You will have five persons directly reporting to you and five persons closely collaborating in the group matrix in Denmark and Russia. You will report to the Supply Chain Director. The location of the position is in the Turku or Helsinki region, but you should be willing and able to travel.    

 

Responsibilities and duties   

  • Develop, lead and execute procurement strategy 

  • Source new suppliers and negotiate competitive contracts with current suppliers 
  • Lead close collaboration with suppliers 
  • Track and report key functional metrics to improve effectiveness and reduce expenses and the environmental impact of the company’s operations 
  • Develop group procurement processes 
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power 
  • Assess, manage and mitigate risks 
  • Lead and participate in projects (e.g. new product development, existing product development and environmental projects)     
 

Qualifications, skills and experience   

  • Master’s degree in a field such as technology, business administration or economics, and several years of experience in international procurement 

  • Expert knowledge of sourcing and supplier management  
  • Experience in a leading international procurement position 
  • Experience in leading and coaching teams 
  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills 
  • Proven analytical skills 
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Fluent English. Swedish and Finnish would be an asset.
