The Slovakian Lesjöfors company Centrum B was in April awarded with the “Social Responsible Company” Seal in an assessment from a national business development organization.

The organization NISSR analyzes the economic environment and the economic health of Slovakian companies on a regular basis. Their business evaluations and analyzes are transferred into a scoring system approved by the European Commission. For a company to get the “Social Responsible Company” seal, there are high standards to live up to when it comes to state support (taxes paid), corporate philanthropy, ethics and profitability.

“With this award the Slovakian authorities want to support companies who are major pillars of economic growth in the country thanks to a business approach characterized by gracefulness and professionalism”, says Ing. Ján Mačuha, General Manager for Centrum B.

Focused CSR policy

Centrum B´s has a focused approach on CSR and a Code of Conduct which is the same for all the companies in the Lesjöfors group. The Code of Conduct, is based on international guidelines and conventions from among others the UN and the ISO 26 000 standard on social responsibility.

“Only 4.4 % of the companies from all over the Slovak Republic fulfill the NISSR criteria so being one of the approved companies mean a lot to us”, says Ing. Ján Mačuha.
