Lesjöfors AB, subsidiary of Beijer Alma AB, acquires the Slovakian spring manufacturer Centrum B
Lesjöfors has with effect from May 1, 2013 signed an agreement to acquire the Slovakian spring manufacturer Centrum B. Centrum B has a broad base of customers mainly in the automotive business and other industries.
Lesjöfors is one of the largest spring manufacturers in Europe and has the widest own manufactured product portfolio on the market. In 2012 sales was about EUR 175 million and the company has about 1 200 employees. Lesjöfors operates in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, England, Germany, Slovakia, Latvia, Russia, China and Korea.
Centrum B´s sales in 2013 are expected to approximately EUR 1.5 million and the company has about 25 employees. The company's customers are located in several countries where Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia are main markets. Centrum B will strategically complement primarily Lesjöfors´ German companies, who thanks to the acquisition will get a qualified spring producer in an attractive cost position as a partner. Centrum B's production area includes wire springs and wire forms.
Kjell-Arne Lindbäck, CEO of Lesjöfors comments on the acquisition: “This acquisition strengthens Lesjöfors´ position in Germany and Central Europe. With Centrum B in our Group, a competitive business with high growth potential is added.”
For Centrum B, the new owner means that the company through Lesjöfors´global organization gain access to new market channels and a strong expertise which the company will benefit from.
Ján Macuha, CEO and previous owner comments on the sale: “The network of expertise within the whole spring market and access to a global sales organization within the Lesjöfors Group will further strengthen Centrum B's market position and significantly increase our company's growth. The sale of the company to the Lesjöfors Group that has springs and pressings as its´ core competence, I regard as an excellent long-term position for the company.”
