The offshore exhibition OTD 2013 in Stavanger had more than 27 000 visitors, which is a new record. Lesjöfors had many fruitful meetings with potential customers in their stand.

There is an intense activity in the Norwegian offshore industry which the annual industry fair OTD is a proof of. The OTD fair is the biggest in its kind in Norway and many new contacts are established and business deals are done. This year, the 15th OTD was held in Stavanger October 23-24th and the interest was higher than ever; 27 312 visitors were registered.

Experienced in springs for offshore

Lesjöfors has been an important spring supplier to the offshore industry for more than 20 years and is very well familiar with the high standards required by the industry. In the stand, disc springs had a front position since they are well adapted to offshore requirements and are frequently used in different offshore projects.
Disc springs are optimal in projects with demands for high forces in a limited space.

“We have some disc springs in our standard program, but when it comes to offshore projects we almost always customize our products to our customers´ specific needs, says Eric Kolsrud Aas, MD Lesjøfors AS in Norway in an interview with Norwegian Metal Supply.

Several potential projects in pipeline

After a successful participation last year at OTD in Bergen, Lesjöfors made careful preparations for the OTD 2013. Thousands of invitations were sent to existing and new customers and the success was obvious. Lesjöfors´ representatives met a massive interest in the company´s spring solutions and people came in crowds to the stand throughout both days. The result was several potential projects within the offshore industry where Lesjöfors´ spring expertise is required.

“We are happy to get involved early in the process. In most cases the development projects are challenging with high technical complexity where we can be of assistance with technical advice and advanced calculations”, says Erik Kolsrud Aas.
