Tailor-made coupling sections for Finnish steel producer

Lesjöfors has produced spring sections in super-alloy materials for one of the heavier interconnections in one of Ovako´s Finnish steel mills. A production characterized by very high demands of precision and shape.

Ovako is a leading European long special steel products company whose customers mainly operate in the heavy vehicle, automotive and engineering industry. The production covers low alloy steels and carbon steels in the form of bars, wire rod, tubes and rings. Ovako has 16 production units and several sales companies in Europe and North America.

Skills and capacity for customized projects
For Ovako´s steel mill in Imatra, Finland, Lesjöfors has produced spring coupling sections, used in a giant interconnection in the manufacturing process. The interconnection is about 2.5 meters in diameter. The sections form a circle and constitute an important part of the function. The spring sections are made out of customized profiled spring steel in the dimension 16 x 22 mm to fit in the construction.
