NCC signs construction contract for electricity supply in Jutland

NCC signs another contract with Energinet for expansion of the electricity grid in Denmark. NCC will carry out construction work to connect the Thor Offshore Wind Farm in Jutland to the national grid. The order value amounts to approximately SEK 200 million.

The assignment is to install 31 kilometers of 220 kV cables from Idomslund to Volder Mark in the west part of Jutland, where a new substation is being built. It is from here that the power generated by the wind farm will be transferred to the grid.

“Infrastructure tasks are a strategically important area for NCC, and the expansion and upgrading of the electricity grid is one of the complex specialties that NCC has the expertise to perform. In addition to the excavation work for the 24 km of cables, seven kilometers of guided horizontal directional drilling and cable insertion will be carried out. The guided directional drilling will run from summer 2023 to summer 2024, while all the excavation and cabling work will take place between spring 2024 and autumn 2024.

The order, worth approximately SEK 200 million will be registered among orders in the NCC Infrastructure business area in the second quarter of 2023.
