AEG Europe choose Nepa for The O2 arena research

2 Feb, 2012 – The leading sports and entertainment group AEG Europe, owner and operator of The O2, has commissioned market research company Nepa UK to conduct the first in-depth analysis of its flagship venue’s customer base.

The entertainment venue The O2 believe the time is now right to have a more detailed and in depth view of its existing and future customer base to aid in important strategic decision making to ensure its continued and future success. By research co-operation with Nepa, The O2 hopes to develop a much deeper understanding of who visits the venue. Nepa UK will focus on both ticket buying customers and non-ticket buying visitors i.e. those who visit The O2’s entertainment district or attend non-ticketed special events.

“The AEG assignment is especially pleasing because Nepa was selected following a competitive procurement with three of the world's largest market research companies and it shows that Nepas combination of innovation and cost-effectiveness is attractive also internationally. The assignment extends in the first phase for five years and includes weekly monitoring of AEG most important goals”, says P-O Westerlund, EVP Head of International Operations at Nepa.

The research will address three main areas; existing customers, potential new customers and the competitive landscape.

“Our aim is that research will help to inform future activity in important strategic areas of our business. We would like to increase our customer retention and acquisition, develop and grow the facilities and identify possible areas that will help grow the business”, says Suzi Kent, The O2, Head of Marketing and Communications.
