Nobina has been entrusted once more to operate bus services in Ale. The total value of the contracts is estimated at about SEK 500 million over the contract period, which is ten years. Traffic is scheduled to start in June 2019 and comprise about 20 buses.

All of the buses will run on fossil-free fuel. They will be equipped with USB sockets and information screens with improved and more extensive traffic information.
“We are proud that Västtrafik is allowing us to develop and operate the bus traffic in Ale. Together with Västtrafik, we now have an opportunity to continue to develop travel so that more people choose public transport,” says Jan Bosaeus, CEO of Nobina Sweden.

In the new contract, Västtrafik has stipulated more stringent requirements for quality compared with previous contracts, including greater demands and more incentives for customer satisfaction.

The contract includes an option for electric buses. This means Västtrafik has the option to decide within one month if two routes in Ale should use electric-powered buses.

The award decision can be appealed until 18 June 2018.
