Nobina has won the tender concerning Norrtälje public bus transport. The tender was organized by the public transport authority in Stockholm, SL, covering bus traffic between primarily Stockholm and Norrtälje comprising 85 buses, out of which 20 are double–decker buses. Traffic operations will start in June, 2011. The current traffic operator is Busslink.

The new traffic contract is worth approximately MSEK 250 in revenue annually over a period of eight years starting on June 24, 2011, with optional extension of two years. The contract combines a fixed compensation with variable compensation depending on the number of travelers.

“We are delighted having been selected for the task of operating and developing traffic between Stockholm and Norrtälje. The new contract is partly based on variable compensation which increases our incentive to attract passengers as part of our assignment to operate the traffic,” says Ragnar Norbäck, CEO and President of Nobina AB.

The contract includes renewal of the bus fleet with a stronger environmental profile. All new buses will offer increased comfort.
