Metropolitan glamour
In the run-up to the tenth anniversary of the famous NOMOS Metro, designer Mark Braun has recast his original design in all-new feminine versions: three times Metro 33.
GLASHÜTTE, OCTOBER 19, 2023. Metro 33 in all silver, sage, and muted red are the newest additions to the watch family designed by Mark Braun; watches from NOMOS Glashütte that truly capture the zeitgeist. The colors of all three represent images of the big city: gleaming facades (all silver), red brick buildings such as those found in Brooklyn (muted red), and the luscious green of the parks or the Statue of Liberty (sage). Thus—in stainless steel, with a milled sub-seconds dial, and in new colors—Metro is completely new.
Exquisite details: Be it the gleaming dial of the all silver version or the intricate double curved sapphire crystal glass of all three, the wire lugs with their quick-change spring bars or the signature Metro crown with its diamond knurling, everything testifies to impeccable Glashütte craftmanship and the highest design standards. The Berlin designer adds playful little details, such as the second hands and minute markers in pink and yellow. Mark Braun is delighted: “These three smaller models are successfully expressing what my original Metro was able to express for me in 2014. For me, they are what I understand by contemporary elegance: smart, playful, and full of energy.” Simone Elbe, Head of Sales (DACH) at NOMOS Glashütte, already has a new favorite watch: “The reflective silver, for sure. It is a piece of the city and art that you can wear!”
The NOMOS Alpha proprietary caliber is at work within all three new versions of Metro 33. This is the most frequently produced and highly acclaimed hand-wound caliber from Glashütte. The three exciting new ladies’ watches—which also suit men with slender wrists, of course—come with a choice of a steel or sapphire crystal back. A vegan ve-lour leather strap in light gray rounds off the watch design. The new models are availa-ble from selected retailers and at nomos-glashuette.com this fall.
