Nordnet publishes Annual and Sustainability Report for 2020
As of today, Wednesday 24 March 2021, Nordnet’s Annual and Sustainability Report for 2020 is available via the Group’s website www.nordnetab.com.
- 2020 is the strongest year in Nordnet's history. The great interest in savings and a strong digitalization trend where consumers choose savings platforms instead of traditional players, in combination with Nordnet's modernized offer, has led to record figures across the board. We have seen a record high inflow of new customers and net savings, and new peak levels for savings capital and lending. With strong revenue growth and an unchanged cost level, Nordnet achieves an adjusted operating profit of SEK 1.6 billion for the full year, says Lars-Åke Norling, CEO of Nordnet.
Highlights during the year
- Nordnet is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange – first day of trading 25 November
- High revenues and cost control provide the best financial result in Nordnet’s history
- Trading record and the Nordic region’s largest broker – highest trading volume on the Nordic stock exchanges in 2020
- High inflow of new customers and net savings, and new peak levels for savings capital and lending
- Launch of four international index funds in our own name
- Success for the new equity savings account in Finland – Nordnet has the largest market share by year end
Financial results in brief, January-December 2020
- Operating income increased by 70 percent, amounting to SEK 2,678.7 million (1,573.4)
- Adjusted operating profit increased by 318 percent to SEK 1,575.9 million (376.8)
- Savings capital amounted to SEK 565 billion (394) as of 31 December 2020
- The customer base increased with 34 percent to 1,221,500 (913,600) customers
- Net savings amounted to SEK 82.1 billion (20.9)
Sustainability results in brief, January-December 2020
- Nordnet’s business is climate positive, and we offset for 110 percent of our greenhouse gas emissions. The emissions during the year amounted to 153 tons CO2e; a decrease with 37 percent compared to 2019
- 37 percent of the fund capital is allocated in sustainable funds (4-5 globes according to Morningstar’s sustainability rating)
- Continued development of tools for sustainable savings. ESG data for ETF’s launched during 2020
- The gender distribution among Nordnet’s employees is 36 (36) percent women and 64 (64) percent men. The proportion of women with staff responsibility increased by 4 percentage points compared to 2019, amounting to 38 percent
