Board member Per Widerström has announced his intentions to leave Nordnet’s Board of Directors. Widerström has accepted the role as CEO of the gaming company 888 Holdings PLC and will not be able to commit enough time to both assignments.

Per Widerström was elected as board member of Nordnet during 2017 in connection with the Nordic Capital investment and subsequent delisting from the stock exchange. In addition to being a board member, Widerström has also served as the Chairman of Nordnet’s IT Committee. Widerström will during the fall assume the role as CEO of the gaming company 888 which operates under the brands William Hill, 888 and Mr Green. 888 is listed on the London Stock Exchange and has around 11,000 employees globally.

“I would like to thank Per for his very valuable contributions as a board member at Nordnet. Per is an experienced businessman and leader who has created value for our organization in many ways. In particular, I would like to highlight his role as Chairman of the IT Committee and his contributions to the technical transformation and the update of the platform that Nordnet did after the company was taken private in 2017”, says Tom Dinkelspiel, Chairman of The Board of Directors of Nordnet.

“It has been a privilege to serve on Nordnet’s Board during the last six years and I am very proud of the journey we have made. While I am sad to leave, I have made the assessment that it will not be possible to commit the appropriate amount of time to both the CEO role at 888 and the Board of Nordnet. I would like to thank my fellow board members, management and the whole Nordnet team for a great collaboration and wish them continued success and growth”, says Per Widerström, departing board member of Nordnet.

Per Widerström’s departure is effective immediately, and after this change Nordnet’s Board of Directors consists of seven members. The Nomination Committee is informed and will begin the process of finding a replacement for Widerström for election at the 2024 Annual General Meeting.
