Report this content

In October, 2,838,053 trades were made in stocks, warrants and options among Nordnet’s customers in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. That corresponds to 123,394 trades on average per day. The number is the highest ever for a single month in Nordnet's history. The previous record is at almost 2.6 million trades and comes from October 2017.

- In October, the Nordic exchanges were characterized by sharp price drops and high volatility, and the private savers have not been passive during this dramatic development. The trading activity reached a record high level – many investors have realized profits and sold their holdings, while others have invested in shares that are much cheaper than before. The market has been generally nervous, and for daytraders with a really short investment horizon, October 2018 has offered great opportunities to make a lot of money, says Anders Danielsson, acting CEO of Nordnet.

Table: Nordnet’s total trades on all exchanges and market places for all customers, and average number of trades per day. Average number of trades per day is calculated as total trades divided by the number of days the Swedish exchanges are open.
