TG’s favorite model is renewed

The TG 5.9 has been Finland’s best-selling cabin boat for several years. Now TG boats is launching a new model, TG 6.1, based on the favorite model. The timeless design and the glued windshield make the TG 6.1 modern and stylish. The new TG 6.1 will be shown for the first time at the Floating boat show in Helsinki on August 18-21.

The TG 6.1 follows the modern design known from the other TG boats. The boat’s high sides, practically shaped bow and extensive railings make it comfortable and safe to move around on the foredeck for both children and adults. The front rails are attached with three support points, which makes them extra strong, and thanks to the wide gap, it is easy to carry goods into the boat. The slightly rugged surface is safe to step on even in wet weather and is easy to keep clean.

All the control units are placed within easy reach for the driver and the view through the large windows is almost unlimited. The boat’s windows are made of tempered glass, which makes them more durable. The door frames and window pillars are designed to be as narrow as possible so as not to restrict visibility. The boat is equipped with two windshield wipers, the switches of which are located close at hand. In addition, a ventilation and defrosting system is included as standard, where fresh air is taken in from the front wall of the cabin, up towards the driver’s windscreen and exits from the rear wall. This gives the driver the best possible visibility, even in wet weather.

The boat can be equipped with LED lights (optional) in the bow. The bowlight is integrated in the bow, so the light doesn’t disturb driver’s eyes or isn’t on the way when boarding boat. The light is exceptionally effective, lighting seamarks even from a 800 meters distance and other objects at a distance of around 400 meters. The lighting is also very helpful upon arrival at a dark cottage beach.

The versatile boat has plenty of space on the foredeck for luggage and seating for four. You move smoothly from the bow of the boat to the stern either through the cabin or along the side decks. The side decks also make harbor maneuvers easier for example when attaching fenders. You get a good grip on the sturdy roof rails along the side deck, for example when getting into the boat as it lies with its side against the dock. The boat can also be equipped with a bow ladder (extra accessory) which makes disembarking easier.

The large front door makes it easy to load luggage into the cabin. The boat has a rear sliding door that can be kept open even while driving. The stern door is designed so that the door does not freeze in colder weather conditions. The upper rail is mounted under the roof for protection from the weather and the lower rail faces downwards so it does not collect ice, dirt or sand. The tightness of the stern door is ensured by a double rubber seal that wedges between the door and the frame when the door is closed. This also reduces noise and resonant vibrations from the engine.

Both open compartments of the boat have lockable storage spaces for fenders, ropes and anchors. The storage compartments are equipped with rubber seal to keep the luggage as dry as possible and prevent the hatches from rattling while driving. Via the swimming ladder on the port side you can easily get onboard the boat after a bath.

The cabin has seating for six people. The driver and co-driver sit comfortably in their own seats, with two-seater sofas on either side of them. Standard equipment includes trim tabs and a roof-width sunroof. The large roof hatch makes it easy to ventilate the boat and enjoy the good weather even when the wind is blowing. The driver and co-driver have good visibility from the wide roof hatch while standing.

The cabin has plenty of storage space. On the port side, luggage can be placed in a lockable storage box so it’s out of the way when driving. On the starboard side there are two open storage compartments for things that may be needed during the trip. In the driver’s console and in the upper compartment there are storage spaces for small items. There are also storage spaces for small items at the co-drivers console and in the compartment above the console. With the help of the bed series (optional), a double bed is formed that is approximately one meter wide in the aft part of the cabin.

The boat’s hull allows the use of a more economical outboard engine. For example, with a 60 hp outboard and a load for two, the top speed is around 28 knots and with 80 hp around 32 knots. With both engine options, the most economical cruising speed is around 20 knots.
