Peab has acquired the real estate property Hamnen 21:149 in Malmo from Saab. The property comprehends the original inner Kockum area and the acquisition will be carried out through buying the shares in Celsius Fastighets AB. The property has an area of about 50 acres and it is mainly built-up with older manufacturing industry halls and offices of all together 90.000 square metres. The major part of these buildings is let and the annual rental income amounts to roughly SEK 15 million. The total underlying purchase price amounts to roughly SEK 280 million. Peab’s intention is to establish an environment- and planning process in collaboration with the community of Malmo and other involved parts. Later on the area will be gradually developed to dwelling units, commercial premises and public buildings. - The acquisition of the Kockum area is a continuation of the development works which Peab established in 1986 through the acquisition of the Kranen area. Malmo is today one of the most expansive cities in Sweden, and the acquisition will further strengthen our position, says Peab’s MD Mats Paulsson.
