Peab has been contracted to build a new department store for IKEA in Älmhult. The customer is IKEA Properties Ltd and the contract amounts to SEK 265 million.

The contract is part of the cooperation agreement between IKEA and Peab signed in December 2010. The first sod in Älmhult was taken in November 2011.

- It feels very good that the cooperation with IKEA now starts in Sweden as well. The department store in Älmhult is the second, Kuopio in Finland was the first, of the ten included in the agreement. Now we will draw experience from the former department stores we have built for IKEA and ensure that it works well even in Älmhult, says Peab's CEO Jan Johansson in a statement.
