Peab has been commissioned to build 208 apartments for rent on the north side of central Eskilstuna. The customer is Heimstaden and the contract is worth SEK 251 million.

The block Nacken in Eskilstuna comprises new production of 208 one to four bedroom apartments for rent. The building will also contain premises on the ground floor and a garage of about 2,000 m2 with a roofed courtyard. The entire block will encompass around 14,500 m2. The apartment building will be certified according to Miljöbyggnad, level Silver, which will integrate a sustainable perspective into the entire project, a boon to both renters and the environment.

The project will be built in a historical industrial area on the north side of central Eskilstuna that is undergoing major development. The area offers culture and entertainment, restaurants, sports and businesses.

“We’re proud to continue developing Eskilstuna. We’re already building homes close by so it feels good to contribute to sustainable community building when we now further increase the number of apartments in central Eskilstuna,” says Nils Staffansson, Region Manager Peab.

The project is a turnkey contract. Construction is planned to start in the spring of 2021 and is expected to be completed during 2023.

The project will be order registered in the fourth quarter 2020.
