Peab has been commissioned to build 80 apartments for rent in Sorgenfri in Malmö. The customer is MKB Fastighets AB and the contract is worth SEK 154 million.

The project City Block Spåret 1 comprises 80 apartments for rent with a garage and basement. The building will be constructed in a U shape where the higher section will have seven floors and contain 69 apartments, and the two lower sections will have three floors and contain eleven apartments in the form of terraced houses. A space of about 2,000 m2 will be built on the ground floor and house a gym primarily.

“We are very pleased to once again build for such an important customer as MKB. Sorgenfri really needs apartments for rent and it feels good to be able to contribute to developing the city district,” says Olle Olsson, Region Manager Peab.

The project is a turnkey contract. Construction will begin in September 2019 and occupation is planned for June 2021.

The project will be order registered in the second quarter of 2019.
