Peab builds extension to school in Lempäälä
Peab has been commissioned to build an extension to an elementary school in Lempäälä. The customer is Lempäälä Municipality and the contract is worth EUR 15 million.
The school is located in Sääksjärvi school district in Lempäälä. The project comprises building new classrooms and new sports facilities of around 360 m2. The total project area is more than 5,000 m2.
The extension will be built according to RTS Environmental Classification which has been developed for the Finnish construction industry. Classification is received after approval by an external audit.
“This project is important to both Lempäälä Municipality and Peab. In recent years we’ve built several schools in the area and we’re glad that we can put our experience from these other projects to good use here,” says Matti Joensuu, Region Manager Peab.
“The extension of Sääksjärvi school district has long been awaited and we look forward to working together with Peab. It will give us a functional, modern and safe school. Developing the school fits in well with the current development of the center of Sääksjärvi,” says Ulla Palo-Oja from Lempäälä Municipality.
The project starts at the end of 2023 and is expected to be completed in the summer of 2025.
The project will be order registered in the third quarter 2023.
