Peab has been commissioned to build Halvors länk, a new 1.3 kilometer cross-connection between road 155 and Hisingsleden. The customer is the Swedish Transport Administration and the contract is worth SEK 279 million.

The project also includes rebuilding and broadening 1.7 kilometers of Hisingsleden, four new bridges and a 900 meter long industrial siding. In addition, Peab will build a new pedestrian and bicycle path along Halvors länk.

Around 24,000 vehicles a day travel on Hisingsleden. Improving the function of Hisingsleden and the new Halvors länk will facilitate goods freight to and from the big industries on western Hisingen.

“Halvors länk creates a corridor with a good transportation flow to and from Hisingsleden and the Port of Gothenburg, which is the largest Nordic port,” says Berth Larsson, Region Manager Peab. “Naturally we are pleased to be part of this improvement in traffic safety and the building of an entirely new pedestrian and bicycle path separated from the roadway that raises the safety of both pedestrians and bicyclists.”

The project is a turnkey contract. Construction will begin in the autumn of 2019 and is expected to be completed in the autumn of 2022.

The project will be order registered in the fourth quarter 2019.
