Peab Builds IKEA Store in Umeå

Peab has been contracted to build the new IKEA store in Umeå. The customer is IKEA Properties Ltd and the contract amounts to SEK 215 million.v

The new store covers 30,000 square meters and is part of the agreement between Peab and IKEA AB, which was signed in December 2010.

The agreement means that Peab will build ten IKEA stores in the Nordic region and cooperation is proceeding according to plan.

The department store in Umeå is the sixth of the ten. Kuopio in Finland was the first, Älmhult Second, Uddevalla Third, Borlänge Fourth
and Ringsaker in Norway the fifth.

The foundation works in Umeå has begun and the store
is scheduled for completion in the winter of 2016.

The project was reported in October 2014.
