Peab has been commissioned to build a new cold storage unit for Lantmännen Byggnads AB in Lillån in Örebro. The contract is worth SEK 157 million.

Peab is going to build a wholly automated low oxygen cold storage unit with accompanying logistics space onto the existing bakery in Örebro. The unit will be 36.5 meters high and maintain -26℃. The oxygen level will be reduced to a very low level to protect against fire. Peab will also build a low warehouse section, a pallet area, a machine room and new logistics offices.

“We’re very pleased to again have been entrusted with helping Lantmännen to modernize and increase its production capacity as well as being able to contribute to a more sustainable logistics flow,” says Nils Staffansson, Region Manager Peab.

The project is a turnkey contract. Construction is planned to start in September 2021 and the project is expected to be completed in September 2022.

The project will be order registered in the second quarter 2021.
