Peab builds new school and rental apartments in Eskilstuna
Peab has been commissioned to build a new school with a schoolyard and 22 rental apartments in the northern part of central Eskilstuna. The customer ordering the school is Eskilstuna Municipality and the rental apartments customer is Eskilstuna kommunfastigheter. The combined contract is worth SEK 231 million.
Peab is going to build a new school with a schoolyard and 22 apartments on the block Nötknäpparen 22. The building will also contain other premises and a new/rebuilt garage section. This is a three dimensional property formation totaling around 11,680 m2. The school will take up 9,800 m2 and the apartments 1,880 m2.
The project will be built in a historical, industrial area that is going through a significant transformation and now offers culture and entertainment and contains restaurants, sports facilities and businesses.
“We’re already building housing in the area and appreciate the opportunity to continue to develop the city together with Eskilstuna Municipality and Eskilstuna kommunfastigheter. We’re pleased to be part of Eskiltuna’s further development by contributing with a new school and rental apartments,” says Nils Staffansson, Region Manager Peab.
The project is a turnkey contract. Construction is planned to start in the fall of 2021 and is expected to be completed in 2024.
The project will be order registered in the third quarter 2021.
