Peab builds office block in Gothenburg for SEK 2,100 million
Peab has been commissioned to build the office block Platinan as part of the new River City in Gothenburg. The customer is Vasakronan and the contract is worth SEK 2,100 million.
The development plan for the City of Gothenburg is called Vision Älvstaden. The Platinan block will be Peab’s first project in the big development package. Together with the customer Vasakronan, Peab will build the city block comprising some 60,000 m2 TBA in an 18 story building. Platinan will include a hotel, offices, event venues and restaurants.
Platinan will be flanked by the new Hising Bridge and will offer renters a view of the river. The groundwork is already going full steam and in the same area Peab is also in the process of decking E45, which will make construction on the roof of Göta Tunnel possible. Several other ongoing projects in the area create a number of challenges concerning logistics and transportation.
Platinan’s architecture is unique with large glass façades and permeated by sustainability. Peab is building according to LEED certification and aims to achieve the highest level – Platinum.
“Platinan is a fantastic project with a design that will make a definite imprint on Gothenburg. It’s Peab’s largest construction project ever in Region West and we are very proud to create this block together with Vasakronan,” says Stellan Haraldsson, Region Manager Peab.
The project is expected to be completed at the end of 2021, beginning of 2022. This is a turnkey contract in partnering and the project will be order registered in the second quarter of 2018.
