Peab has been commissioned to build a concrete tunnel for the new subway at Kvicksund Road in Bandhagen in southern Stockholm. The customer is Region Stockholm’s administration of the subway extension and the contract is worth SEK 124 million.

More trains will be needed when the subway in Stockholm is extended. In order to take care of all the new trains the Högdal Depo will be enlarged and used by both the Green, Blue and Yellow lines. Peab will build part of the new track tunnel that will connect the depo and the Farsta subway line so that the trains can get in and out via both Högdalen and Hökarängen.

“As the Nordic Community Builder we are pleased to be part of the extension of the new subway, thereby helping to create better conditions for mass rapid transit for people in Stockholm,” says Carl Johan Söderberg, Region Manager Peab.

The project is a traditional contract. Construction is planned to start in August 2021 and the project is expected to be completed in 2024.

The project will be order registered in the third quarter 2021.
