Peab has been commissioned to build 139 rental apartments and a garage in Kvarngärdet in Uppsala Municipality. The customer is Rikshem AB and the contract is worth SEK 230 million.

The project Lärjungen is a turnkey contract comprising 139 rental apartments with a connecting three story parking garage. The apartments will be one to four rooms plus kitchen. “We’re very happy to have been entrusted with building Kvarngärdet. Being able to contribute to new housing in an expanding city borough and participating in community building is important,” says Louise Strömbäck, Region Manager Peab.

“Together with Peab we’re going to build apartments that will be a welcome addition to Kvarngärdet in Uppsala and I look forward to this collaboration. This project is created for modern living and provides the opportunity to live with an exciting floor plan through a bedroom on the mezzanine,” says Linda Forsell, Head of Real Estate for Rikshem in Uppsala.

The project is a turnkey contract. Construction will begin in December 2021 and occupation is planned for the fourth quarter 2024.
