Peab has been commissioned to build a school for Jyväskylän Tilapalvelu on Sohlberg Street in Keljonkangas, Jyväskylä in Finland. The contract is worth EUR 16 million.

The new school in Jyväskylä will have room for over 700 students and classrooms for grades five to nine along with rooms for taking care of students and the Keljonkangas Library. The school will also be used in the evenings for leisure activities. The school consists of two buildings totaling around 10,000 m2, connected through a bridge-like passageway.

“The Keljonkangas School is a substantial and interesting project for Peab during 2020 and 2021. It’s a natural continuation of our ongoing work around schools. We can put our previous experience to good use in this project. Jyväskylän Tilapalvelu is an important customer in Jyväskylä and we are very pleased to be collaborating with them,” says Matti Joensuu, Region Manager Peab Finland.

This is a turnkey contract and construction begins in October 2019. Occupation is planned for August 2021.

The project will be order registered in the fourth quarter of 2019.
