Peab has been commissioned to build the Stridsberg Bridge in Trollhättan. The customer is Trollhättan City and the contract is worth SEK 329 million.

Stridsberg Bridge will span over Göta River between the area Hjulkvarnelund and the new city borough Vårvik in Trollhättan. The bridge will be about 254 meters long with an openable part in the form of a double folding bridge.

“We look forward to beginning construction of the Stridsberg Bridge. The bridge is a key to the community development of Trollhätten, which we are proud to be a part of,” says Berth Larsson, Region Manager Peab.

Stridsberg Bridge will reduce traffic density on existing bridges and create a clearer division of traffic between east and west Trollhätten. The bridge will be available for pedestrians, bicyclists, mass transit and cars. Particular consideration will be taken to unprotected users by building four meter wide pedestrian and bicycle paths and a 3.5 meter wide car lane in both directions.

“Building Stridsberg Bridge is a step towards the future, a link which further connects Trollhätten and everyone that lives here. Stridsberg Bridge is an asset for all of Trollhätten in so many ways,” says Paul Åkerlund, Chairman of the Municipal Board.

On Thursday a scaled-down, due to COVID-19, groundbreaking ceremony will be held with Paul Åkerlund, Chairman of the Municipal Board.

The project is a turnkey contract in partnering. Construction will begin in November 2020 and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2023.

The project will be order registered in the fourth quarter 2020.
