Peab builds student housing in Åbo, Finland

Peab has been commissioned to build student housing and commercial space for Turun Ylioppilaskyläsäätiö in Åbo, Finland. The contract is worth MEUR 23 million.

The project comprises 186 accommodations, shared sauna facilities and storage space as well as indoor and outdoor community space. Most of the housing is one room studios. The project also includes the construction of a parking garage and a store. The first floor will contain restaurant for the students, retail premises and offices for Turun Ylioppilaskyläsäätiö. The total area will be 10,300 m2.

The project is a turnkey contract. Construction will begin in April 2020 and the project is expected to be ready for occupation in December 2021.

The project will be order registered in the first quarter 2020.
