Peab contracted for project Olskroken
Olskroken is a central hub in the railway system in Gothenburg and West Sweden. Five lanes meet here and traffic consists of passenger and freight trains, which make this place one of the most intensive hub for rail in Sweden. Project Olskroken means that new tracks will be built to separate freight from passenger services. A renovation in Olskrogen, so that the railroad tracks cross each other in different levels, is necessary and will raise the capacity and increase the accessibility and reliability for all rail traffic to and from the connecting paths.
Procurement of project Olskroken is performed under contract model ECI, Early Contractor Involvement. Peab in therefore involved in the early stages and is responsible for the detailed design prior to construction, which is scheduled for the year 2017/2018. The project is planned to last until the 2024.
Project Olskrogen is divided in two phases. In phase 1, the collaboration organization implement planning, design, preparation of target price and more. Work on Phase 1 has commenced and when finalized Phase 2 will begin, which includes a turnkey contract with the detail design and construction.
The project will be reported after the final determination of the contract price between the parties.
