Peab has been commissioned to expand the smolt facility at Sævareid in Bjørnafjorden. The customer is Artec Aqua AS and the contract is worth NOK 116 million, approximately 111 million Swedish kroner.

Sævareid Fiskeanlegg AS is going to expand its existing smolt facility for fry salmon in Bjørnafjorden, south of Bergen. The general contractor for the project is Artec Aqua AS, which has made Peab responsible for the construction project.

The new facility will have a production capacity of 29 million smolts annually, which is a significant increase. The new building will have a gross floor area of 4,800 m2 and will be erected in the same space as the current facility while the oldest sections of the existing buildings will be demolished.

"We look forward to start working and continue our good collaboration with Artec Aqua. Peab has extensive expertise in both buildings for foodstuffs and complex concrete work," says Kjetil Nordang, MD of Peab K. Nordang.

The project is expected to be completed in the autumn of 2027.

The project was order registered in the first quarter 2025.
