Peab rebuilds Ås School in Krokom
Peab has been commissioned to renovate and extend the school in Ås. The customer is Krokom Municipality and the contract is worth SEK 111 million.
The school needs larger, modernized premises and more space to handle the growing population in Krokom. The school will continue to function during construction.
“I’m very proud that we have been entrusted to, with local resources, refit such a fundamental function in society as an elementary school,” says Fredrik Timan, Region Manager Peab.
Krokum Municipality is in the process of improving its educational infrastructure and the project is part of the overarching growth strategy target for the year 2035.
“I’m really happy for this project. By modernizing and extending the school we’re creating a positive and forward looking environment for our children and youths. This shows development and fits in perfectly with our strategy for growth,” says Kajsa Mattsson, Head of Growth in Krokum Municipality.
The project is a traditional contract. Construction will start in the fall of 2023 and will be completed in stages where the final one is expected to be finished by August 2025.
The project will be order registered in the second quarter 2023.
