Peab has been commissioned to renovate and extend the Central School in Sørreisa. The customer is Sørreisa Municipality and the contract is worth NOK 146 million.

The school consists of four buildings, one of which will be replaced by a new 2,400 m2 three story building with a basement. Around 1,500 m2 in the existing buildings will be renovated and rebuilt. A number of facades will also be renovated and painted.

“As a local community builder we are incredibly happy about this project. Building schools has always been an important part of our business and only last fall Peab delivered three fantastic schools in Narvik, Stokmarknes and Evenes. The project in Sørreisa gives us the opportunity to further develop our organization in Midt-Troms and we intend to recruit both craftsmen and white-collar workers,” says Gro Skaar Knutsen, Region Manager Peab.

The project is a turnkey contract. Construction will begin in August 2021 and the project is expected to be completed in June 2023.

The project will be order registered in the third quarter of 2021.
