Peab has been commissioned to rebuild Vaxholm’s docks. The customer is the City of Vaxholm and the contract is worth SEK 116 million.

The current docks in Vaxholm were inaugurated in 1969 and have reached their expected lifetime. The project entails foundation work to strengthen and broaden them. Peab will build a new dock line beyond the existing dock from Öster Port, over Söder Port to the guest port.

“We look forward to this important project on historic land in Vaxholm. This is a project where we can really use our internal resources and expertise in marine technology, civil engineering and foundation work,” says Michael Edberg, Division Manager Peab.

“Now we’re really getting started and it feels great! We’re going to get our new docks that are truly the heart and pulse of Vaxholm,” says Tina Runhem, Chair of the Municipal Board in Vaxholm.

The project is a traditional contract. Construction will start in December and the project is expected to be completed in the second quarter 2025.

The project will be order registered in the fourth quarter 2023.
