Peab has been commissioned to reinforce Road 953 between Östgranvåg and Forsmo in Sollefteå Municipality. The customer is the Swedish Transport Administration and the contract is worth SEK 115 million.

The work will be done in collaboration with the Swedish Transport Administration to boost efficiency. As large areas must be bulldozed to reinforce the road, replanting is a significant part of the project. The roadwork will be a geotechnical challenge.

“We’re very proud of this project which is special since we’ll be planting a lot of vegetation to stabilize a slope above the Ångerman River. This will provide erosion protection,” says Jörgen Eriksson, Region Manager Peab.

“Reinforcing and upgrading Road 953 is a long awaited project for nearby residents and everyone who uses it. It feels great to finally get started,” says Jörgen Stjärne, Project Manager for the Swedish Transport Administration.

The project is a traditional contract. Construction will begin in September 2023 and is expected to be ready for turnover in the October 2025.

The project will be order registered in the third quarter 2023.
