Peab restores the railroad north of Karlskrona

Peab has been commissioned to carry out the restoration of the railway between Karlskrona and Emmaboda. The customer is Swedish Transport Administration and the contract amounts to SEK 265 million.

The contract includes the rehabilitation of track and overhead line, construction of bridges, conversion of railroad yard, new establishment places, level crossing and various measures of capacity and safety improvements.

The mission is a performance contract-enhanced interaction. Peab and the Transport Administration will work together to develop optimal solutions with regard to the environment, economy, technology and time keeping.

The work will begin in August 2010 and it is estimated to be ready in October 2013.
