Peab to build a motorway part in Uppsala

Peab has won the contract to carry out the extension of Bärbyleden in Uppsala. The client is the National Road Administration and the contract amounts SEK 293 million. The new motoway will be 2.6 kilometres, it will have two lanes in each direction and it will be excavated below the current land level. The way will pass from the Röbo roundabout, where the current European highway 4 goes northwards, and then continues eastwards to the new E4. The contract also contains to build 12 bridges, extensive main system works and soil reinforcement. It is a performance contract which is estimated to be ready during October 2007.
