Peab to build railway in Bohuslän

Peab has been contracted to build one part of the railway-extension at Norge/Vänerbanan. The range of this part is between the villages Nol and Älvängen, north of Gothenburg. The client is BanaVäg i Väst, a cooperation agreement between Banverket and Vägverket (the National Railway and Road Associations). BanaVäg i Väst now build a double track railway and a four lane road between Gothenburg and Trollhättan. The contract amounts to SEK 155 million.
The contract includes building 4,1 kilometres double track railway, three bridges, a deck along the marina, rock- and soil shafts, soil reinforcement with KC-pillars and reconstruction of local roads.
The work has started and it is estimated to be ready in May 2010.
