MMR Research Worldwide’s international team gains eight new hires
Numbers continue to grow at the consumer insight and sensory specialist for the food, drink, personal and household care sectors, MMR Research Worldwide (MMR), as eight new recruits are welcomed.
MMR’s international teams gain new leaders in the form of Mario da Cruz, head of MMR USA based in New York, and Andrew Kuiler, managing director, MMR China, based in Shanghai. Mario and Andrew possess over three decades of industry experience between them. The UK team will be bolstered at all levels from associate director, Tom Coombes, to trainee research executives Caroline Withers, Nikki Mooney and Herbert Chan, the latter who comes to MMR with a PhD in nutrition and food science. These new members will be based at the company’s Wallingford headquarters in Oxfordshire, and its London office.
UK offices
Tom Coombes, associate director, joins MMR’s London office as an experienced quantitative researcher, having worked at several major agencies in his career, including TNS and Hall & Partners.
Caroline Withers, trainee research executive, joins the MMR team having recently completed a PhD in Sensory Science at the University of Reading. Building on experience with the Food Standards Agency and a microbiology company, Caroline will be based at MMR’s Wallingford offices.
Nikki Mooney, trainee research executive, takes up her role as a trainee research executive having begun work at MMR as the client service team assistant. Graduating last year from the University of Swansea with a BSc Business with Marketing degree, Nikki will be based at MMR’s Wallingford Offices.
Herbert Chan, trainee research executive, will join the team at MMR’s Wallingford office to assist with ongoing projects, questionnaire design and data analysis. With a PhD in Nutrition and Food Science, Herbert has been working in the nutrition and food science field for seven years.
USA office
Mario da Cruz, head of MMR USA, takes the helm of MMR USA having worked in the market research industry for over 20 years. He has spent his career agency-side supporting companies in the FMCG/CPG, technology and healthcare services. Mario describes his key aim as discovering what is motivating clients to do more research so as to design and interpret quality studies which address critical business decisions, and engage clients and stakeholders.
Shanghai office
Andrew Kuiler, managing director MMR China, will be responsible for overall business management, local strategy, team leadership, and business/client development for MMR in China. A native Australian, Andrew has travelled extensively in his career; working as a researcher in Macau and Australia, before moving to GfK and Nielsen in the USA, and latterly Synovate Ipsos in China, where he has been since 2010. Andrew will manage MMR’s China business from the company’s Shanghai office as the business continues to grow its presence in Asia.
Anna Jin, research manager, joins MMR’s Shanghai office having worked in the research industry for four years. With a master’s degree in Applied Economics and Statistics, Anna has worked in the past for General Mills USA, where she helped develop products such as cereal bars and snack mixes.
Alexandra Zhen, senior research executive, brings over eight years’ experience to MMR, gained at both international and boutique agencies. Holding a Bachelor of Commerce and Arts degree, Alexandra majored in marketing, international relations and sociology, at the Australian National University.
