Information regarding bird flu in Denmark

Report this content

The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration today released information that bird flu H5N8 has been identified at a hobby farm on Zealand with approximately 30 ducks. Scandi Standard’s operations in Denmark are not affected.

Scandi Standard is following the instructions from the authorities and has already taken necessary precautions. All free range flocks have been taken indoors as an example.

The H5N8 is not considered to affect humans but is very contagious between birds. There is no reason for concern for the consumer, chicken is safe to eat.

Certain Asian export markets may close for imports from affected markets. This has not happened and Scandi Standard monitors the development.
