Scandic continuing digital development with online check-in and mobile room keys

Scandic is continuing to expand its digital offering with even more services. Since 2013, Scandic’s guests have enjoyed the possibility to check in online. Now, to make it even easier to manage the entire hotel experience, Scandic is testing digital check-in and mobile room keys at selected hotels in Stockholm.

Scandic is already at the leading edge when it comes to developing smart digital solutions for guests. In as early as 2013, the company launched the possibility to check out online.

Now, guests at selected Scandic hotels in Stockholm will be able to test digital check-in and mobile room keys. In just a few clicks, they will be able to check in quickly, choose their room and pay for their stay as well as use their mobile phone as a key instead of a traditional keycard.

- Our Nordic guests are used to digital solutions that provide seamless service, which is why we are investing in expanding our customer offering further. By offering digital check-in and mobile room keys, we will be able to provide smart and simple services for our guests, says Thomas Engelhart, Chief Commercial Officer at Scandic Hotels Group.

The new solutions, which have been tailor-made for Scandic, have been developed together with Ariane Systems and Assa Abloy Hospitality.

Initially, Scandic plans to roll out online check-in at all hotels in big cities during 2017.
