    Scania wins the Green Truck Award – again

    A Scania R 500 won this year’s “Green Truck Award” by a healthy margin. The German fuel test focuses on lowest fuel consumption. Scania’s new truck generation, with its updated 13-litre engine ensured that Scania took the prize – again. European hauliers appreciate the lowest fuel consumption, highest average speeds and lowered C02 effects that help to keep costs and environmental impacts low.With an average fuel consumption of 24.92 litre/100 km and an average speed of 79.91 km/h on the same 350 km long test track, the difference between Scania and the next best competitor was a healthy 0.

    Scania launches Fleet Care with Uptime Guarantee

    Scania now extends its service Fleet Care, which enables truck and bus operators to fully focus on providing services while Scania ensures timely maintenance and repairs. This service is now being broadened with the introduction of Scania Fleet Care with Uptime Guarantee.The new service additionally focuses on maintaining uptime. Truck hauliers and bus operators select the uptime they wish to uphold in a given time frame.     Scania expands industrial and commercial operations in Thailand

    Scania has identified Thailand as one of the key markets in Asia and is expanding its industrial and commercial presence in the country. A new assembly facility for trucks and bus chassis as well as a manufacturing facility for truck cabs will be established in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region, including staff for production, logistics and purchasing as well as research and development. The total investment is EUR 21.2 million and operations are scheduled to start in 2018.In addition, regional headquarters will be established in Thailand to support Scania’s distributors in Asia and Oceania

    Scania to showcase its first concrete mixer trucks for Mexican market

    Scania is teaming up with McNeilus to showcase its first concrete mixer trucks for the Mexican market, at the Mexican Association of Concrete Industries’ congress in Cancun from 19 to 22 October.The truck being displayed at the congress, one of the most important events in the concrete industry’s calendar, is a P 310 C6x4HZ model.     Record order bookings during the second quarter

    Scania’s order bookings for trucks reached a record level of 20,987 units during the second quarter. Among other things, Scania received a number of major orders and order bookings in Europe improved compared to the first quarter of the year.     The Austrian public procurement organisation Bundesbeschaffungs GmbH (BBG) and Scania Österreich have signed an agreement for the delivery of up to 485 Scania Euro 6 trucks over the next three years. The agreement is worth about EUR 65 million.The trucks will be put into use by Austrian cities, communities and other public organisations, including the Austrian motorway operator ASFINAG.     Scania adds 13-litre biodiesel engines to its Euro 6 range

    Scania is introducing two Euro 6-certified, 13-litre truck engines that can run on any diesel blend, right up to 100 percent biodiesel (EN 14214). The versions certified for biodiesel operation are the mo­dular, six-cylinder, 13-litre 450 and 490 hp engines.Scania is continuing the roll-out of its Euro 6-certified engines intended for use with 100-percent biodiesel.
